About

Sofia Schmidt - NFA's Founder

Eight years ago, I boarded a plane to Madrid for a semester abroad — and I haven’t stopped traveling since. I’ve always been a curious person, and through my travels I’ve learned so much about different places, cultures, and myself along the way.

My background is in international development, and if that field has taught me anything, it’s that the small choices we make each day matter. They leave a lasting impact on the people we meet and the places we visit.

The idea for No Fixed Addresses was born while I was traveling through Central America, staying in homestays and locally owned hostels with the goal of supporting small businesses. I had pictured myself as the one giving back — offering my resources and choosing where my money went — but what I received in return was even more valuable. I was welcomed with open arms by people who were eager to share their culture, their daily lives, and their communities with me — far beyond the tourist trail.

That spirit is at the heart of No Fixed Addresses. My goal is to help others plan meaningful travel experiences — the kind that not only support local economies and families but also foster genuine human connection. Whether you're dreaming of a luxury getaway, a backpacking adventure, or something in between, I can help make it happen.

Travel doesn’t have to be extractive. It can be reciprocal. It can be personal. And it can leave the world a little better than we found it.

That is the No Fixed Addresses vision.
